MUSIC

Growing up, I was classically trained in piano, and also played viola for a few years, starting in fourth grade. There hasn't been as much time to practice in college, but I am interested in building my repertoire and exploring different genres. I also got a guitar recently.

I have a particular liking for video game music, as well as associated genres, like chiptunes. Of course, there's a wide variety of games, and consequently, a video game soundtrack can fall under many different genres. You'll see plenty of influence from video games in this part of the site.

Transcription - Everything's Alright

If you haven't played To the Moon yet, you should - it's an excellent indie adventure game.

Also, you'll probably be more impressed with what I'm about to show you if you've already played the game. Which is obviously very important.

I really liked the main theme of this game, which you can listen to here (but only if you've already played the game! I wouldn't want to spoil anything for you.) Laura Shigihara is the composer - you may know her for being behind the original Plants vs. Zombies soundtrack.

I wanted to learn this song myself, and managed to find this transcription. Some great work identifying chords and such has already been done, but I wanted to personally iron things out, and wrote my own transcription using MuseScore.

I tried to stay as accurate as possible to the in-game music, though of course how the song should be played is open to interpretation.
